In good condition.
Lens was not clean, owing to sickness of Keeper who was confined to his bed.
Tolerably good condition.
Specimen examined. It was clear & clean, it had been filtered.

The burner was found to be somewhat out of level.
Not clean; Keeper sick as before stated.
It was on; made of cotton ticking. Hung up in the lantern room when not in use. It was clean.
No curtains here.
No alarm bell.
No rod lamp.
The roof of the dwelling is reported to leak badly in storms.

Inside of tower was whitewashed.
Some panes of glass are wanted.
Repairs to roof are needed. It leaks badly as the Keeper states.

It is not allowed to touch the lens improperly.
These doors fit tightly.
None of these articles were to be seen at the time of inspection.
Matches were seen, & the attention of the Keeper called to the impropriety of this being allowed to be about.
Keeper understands the use of the ventilators & how to air the bldg.
Painted according to instructions. Lightning conductor in good condition & led into the ground.

They are so made.
Gutters were not filled. Instructed the Keeper on the subject of filling them.
There was a dripping bucket to one butt only.
They were clear of the masonry, on a raised platform.
There was no empty oil butt.
